welcome to my blog. I am Michele Dominguez Greene, an actress/author/musician. I added my grandmother’s family name to my pen name for the release of my debut young adult novel, Chasing The Jaguar. I got so tired of people asking me why I spoke Spanish and thinking I was a nice Jewish white girl from the Valley! I’m a lapsed Catholic, half-Latina (mexican/guatemalan/nicaraguan), bi-cultural and bilingual. If I had thought of it years ago, I would have always used Dominguez but it never occurred to me that anyone would think I wasn’t Latina. But they do! So, now I’ve added it and for those of you who think I made it up, too bad! Check out my bio page and that photo of my mom and aunts Carmen and Guadalupe…now tell me I’m not Latina!
I’ve worked for many years in television and film, I was on the NBC series L.A. Law and a slew of Lifetime movies as well as some cool indies. I’ve recorded CDs , written magazine articles, screenplays, books….just a whole lot going on over here, always running around, keeping everything moving forward. I have new books coming out, new cd’s, new projects of all kinds. This blog has different posts that are for the different interests in my life, artistically, personally, politically. I am, from time to time, a one woman cottage industry of protest over here! SO check out my writing, my calendar, music and gig info, my new Jose In LA blog (about my newly adopted son from Guatemala and how he is becoming a rockin’ Angeleno)…….happy reading and welcome to my world!
